Kenneth G. Blankenship, commonly known as Ken, holds a prominent role as a founding partner at Talon, a company deeply involved in the multifamily housing industry. With over three decades of experience in this sector, Ken has established himself as a seasoned professional. Since 2003, he has spearheaded the successful development of more than 40 properties, encompassing over 4,000 apartment units spread across the Southeastern region of the United States.
Ken’s extensive involvement in multifamily housing has endowed him with invaluable expertise, making him adept at tackling diverse development projects. His primary focus within Talon revolves around overseeing day-to-day business and financial operations. Ken’s pivotal contributions include cultivating crucial third-party relationships essential for the company’s success. These relationships span management agents, lenders, syndicators, as well as state and federal housing agencies. He consistently nurtures these connections, fostering commitment and mutual benefit.
Furthermore, Ken is entrusted with executing all debt and equity models, a responsibility critical to the financial health and sustainability of Talon’s projects. His adept management extends to directing all closing and funding processes, ensuring seamless operations throughout.
In addition to his role at Talon, Ken serves as a president for the Georgia Affordable Housing Coalition, indicating his active engagement and leadership within the industry at both regional and national levels. This multifaceted involvement underscores Ken’s comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of multifamily housing development and his commitment to driving positive change within the sector.
Devin Blankenship
Devin C. Blankenship, another founding partner at Talon, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the company, particularly in the multifamily housing industry. With over a decade of immersion in this sector, Devin has established himself as a seasoned professional. Notably, he is also a licensed general contractor in seven states, adding another layer of capability to his skill set.
Devin’s journey into the multifamily housing realm began after graduating cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Building Science from Auburn University. His career commenced in September 2011 as a Development Manager, where he quickly demonstrated his aptitude for project management and collaboration. Progressing to the role of Senior Development Manager, Devin assumed greater responsibilities, overseeing numerous projects and cultivating essential relationships within the design and construction sectors relevant to multifamily developments.
Within Talon, Devin shoulders the responsibility of overseeing all aspects of a project’s design, from its conception to construction completion. He plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless communication and documentation between various stakeholders, fostering fluency and timeliness in project execution. This proficiency not only aids in accomplishing various project goals but also contributes to maintaining the project within budget constraints.
Moreover, Devin serves as the owner’s representative throughout the project’s development process, working closely with his team to ensure that the project aligns with their vision and objectives. His close collaboration with management teams further enhances the chances of a successful project launch, underscoring his commitment to delivering excellence at every stage of development.
